Another Pedio simpsonii var minor

This Pediocactus simpsonii var minor was grown under sodium and halogen lights and the difference in appearance from the one that germinated outdoors is striking. This one is slightly elongated as if it wants more light and the spines are much more spaced out - perhaps - to let in more light. I doubt if the intensity of the light is too low because many other cactus seedlings grow very well under these lights. Maybe there is something lacking in the light, but in any case it is a healthy seedling that will get plenty of sun this summer as it is now outdoors.
