Sclerocactus seedlings with nures plant

These Sclerocactus seedlings were planted around the base of the mother plant this spring. The base of the mother plant is hard to see because it looks like rock, and is in the upper left corner of the photo. I'm unsure about the identity of the plant, but I think it may be Sclerocactus uncinatus which probably makes it a Glandulicactus uncinatus. The mother plant was found in an Arizona green house a few years ago and was loaded with seed pods. The parent plant makes a good nurse plant because she keeps the seedlings in partial sun and perhaps provides them with a healthy micro habitat to get a great start in life. The seedlings were germinated outdoors in the Wisconsin sun and rain, but I do keep this plant in the basement under lights in the winter. This winter I plant to test a few of the older seedlings from this plant in our cold frames over the winter to see if this species is cold hardy enough for a protected Wisconsin winter.
